Your Guide to the Village at Rancharrah Fall Harvest Market

October 15, 2026

Saturday, October 3, was the last morning of the season for Shirley's Village Shops Market at 1119 California Avenue. That same Saturday, about 20 growers, food producers and makers set up for the first time on the central lawn at The Village at Rancharrah, for the opening morning of the Village Fall Harvest Market, presented by Prema Farm. The timing explains what the market is for. South Reno had no Saturday market this late in the year. For eight weeks it does now, and the series ends on the same Saturday the Village lights its holiday tree.

The market runs every Saturday from October 3 through November 21, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 7100 Rancharrah Parkway. The Village calls it "the launch of a new community tradition." As of today, October 13, two of the eight mornings have happened. Six are left.

Where Saturday Shopping Stood Before October 3

The table below sets the Rancharrah dates beside the 2026 schedules Edible Reno-Tahoe published in its 2026 Farm Guide.

Market Day 2026 schedule Location
Tamarack Junction Farmers' Market Saturday 8 a.m. to noon, through Sept. 26 13101 S. Virginia St.
The Village Shops Market Saturday 8 a.m. to noon, through Oct. 3 1119 California Ave.
Village Fall Harvest Market Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 3 through Nov. 21 7100 Rancharrah Pkwy.
Riverside Farmers Market Sunday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 25; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 1 through May 23 Idlewild Park, 2055 Idlewild Dr.

The names are confusing. The guide's "Village Shops Market" is Shirley's market on California Avenue, near Old Southwest Reno. It has nothing to do with The Village at Rancharrah. The two closest Saturday options for south Reno were Tamarack Junction on South Virginia, which closed September 26, and California Avenue, which closed October 3. The Rancharrah series opened the same morning California Avenue closed, so south Reno never went a Saturday without a market.

Riverside is still the year-round option, but it runs on Sundays at Idlewild Park. Its hours move to 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting Sunday, November 1. If you shop on Saturdays, Rancharrah is now the closer and later choice through the third week of November.

Prema Farm's Saturdays Have Moved South

The farm behind the market adds to the timing story. Prema Farm traces its start to farming potlucks among friends in the fall of 2015, and its homepage marks it as established in 2016. Courtney O'Neill and David Longo run it today. In a first-person column for Edible Reno-Tahoe's Spring 2026 issue, O'Neill describes the two of them as stewards who took the farm over two seasons earlier. The farm describes its vegetables and flowers as certified organic and grown no-till.

Prema's CSA covers the main harvest season, June through September, in half, full, family and farmstand shares. All summer, Saturday CSA pickup happened at Shirley's on California Avenue, between 8 a.m. and noon in the CVS parking lot. Sunday pickup was at Riverside, near the Idlewild Park ponds. Then the CSA season ended and the California Avenue market closed. Prema's next Saturday in Reno was on the lawn at Rancharrah, under its own name as presenting partner.

What's on the tables follows the fall harvest. The Village's announcement lists squash from green and yellow zucchini to delicata and pumpkins. It also lists sweet corn, stone fruits, tomatoes and apples, plus beets, cabbage, carrots, seasonal greens, potatoes, mushrooms and peppers. Late in the run, expect the storage crops and squash to hold up better than the summer crops on that list.

Who Sets Up on the Lawn

The Village has published the full roster, and Prema is one of 20 names. The roster leans toward small local food makers more than produce stands. Some names tell you exactly what they sell:

  • Growers and foragers: Prema Farm, Palomino Valley Farm, Growth & Greens Urban Farm, Happy Mushroom, Mountain Mushroom
  • Pantry: Calolea Olive Oil, Hippie G Jam, Nevada Brining Company, Pasta Fresca
  • Coffee and flowers: Segara Coffee, Sierra Water Gardens Floral
  • Makers and more: Candidly Said + Imperfectly Crafted, Honed by Jones, Pet Wants Reno, Pink Elephant, Sasquatch Foods, Terroir Herbals, The Radish Hotel, Zawadisha, Zena Food

The Village's market pages don't list rules for parking, pets or live music. If those matter to your plans, ask the Village before you go. Don't assume they work the way they did at a summer market elsewhere in town.

A Market Morning That Fits the Shops Already Open

For six Saturdays, the market's hours overlap with the businesses around the lawn. You can make it a full morning instead of a quick produce stop. In time order:

  1. 7 a.m. Perenn Bakery opens, two hours before the first vendor. It serves pastries, espresso, bread and savory plates, daily until 2:30 p.m.
  2. 8 a.m. Elixir Superfood & Juice opens, with organic coffee, breakfast bowls, smoothies and fresh juice.
  3. 9 a.m. The market opens on the central lawn. Perenn Grocery, next door to the bakery, opens at the same hour with espresso, bread and pantry and home goods until 6 p.m.
  4. 1 p.m. Vendors pack up. The bakery has another hour and a half of service.
  5. 5 p.m. Great Gold starts dinner service, Tuesday through Saturday until 9 p.m.

Chef Brandon Kirksey opened Great Gold as the second location of his Truckee restaurant, in the space where Grafted Whiskey & Wine Bar used to be. Edible Reno-Tahoe reported that it seats 80 inside and 40 on the patio, with a seasonal, farm-to-table menu. The Village's own post describes hand-rolled pasta, Neapolitan-style pizza and cocktails, which makes it the dinner stop on a market Saturday.

Six Saturdays Left, and the Last One Runs Late

The rest of the series falls between two other Village events.

Date What's happening at The Village Hours
Fri., Oct. 16 Wolf Pack Friday, with tenant specials and discounts 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Sat., Oct. 17, 24, 31 Fall Harvest Market 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sat., Nov. 7, 14 Fall Harvest Market 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sat., Nov. 21 Final Fall Harvest Market 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Sat., Nov. 21 Grand Tree Lighting; Santa on site 4 to 7 p.m. 5 to 8 p.m.
Sat., Nov. 28 Small Business Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Wolf Pack Friday falls the day before the third market morning. That puts tenant specials on Friday and vendors on the lawn Saturday, back to back.

November 21 is the busiest day on the calendar. The last market closes at 1 p.m. Santa arrives at 4. At 5, the Reed High School Intermezzo Choir performs. The 30-foot tree is lit at 5:30. The Village points out that the tree lighting falls on the weekend before Thanksgiving. So the last morning of the harvest series is also the first evening of the holiday season, with three hours between the vendors leaving and Santa arriving.

The Village's event page for the October 31 market shows a date range running to December 19. The main announcement and the series event page both give November 21 as the last day. Plan around November 21 unless the Village announces more dates.

The Saturday after that is Small Business Saturday, open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with local boutiques, pastries, handmade chocolates and gifts. For Sunday shoppers, Riverside stays open on its winter schedule at Idlewild Park, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., through May 23.
